This Peanut Sauce Recipe Makes Two Large Portions
Spicy Thai Peanut Sauce Recipe with Sesame Oil
- 2/3 cup of peanut butter, chunky or creamy on preference
- 1/4 cup of soy sauce
- 1/2 cup of coconut milk
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 green onions, diced
- 2 tbsp of sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp powdered ginger
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 fresh squeezed lime or 2T of lime juice
- Crushed peanuts or sesame seeds (optional)
Whisk together all ingredients in a small saucepan and then simmer over low heat. Sauce will thicken, so it may be good to keep some extra coconut milk or water on hand if you like your sauce a little thinner. The sauce goes great with Chinese egg noodles, but the recipe can be made fully vegan very easily. Sprinkle crushed peanuts or sesame seeds on top before eating.

BBQ Tempeh Sandwich Finished Product
This recipe is quick and easy to make. It’s also very nice to store and eat later. If you try it, please leave your comments about your experience or what you’d do differently.
Ingredients
1 cup barbecue sauce, your choice or read below
1 (8 ounce) package of tempeh, crumbled
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 red bell pepper
1 yellow bell pepper
1 clove of garlic, diced
4 Kaiser rolls, split (or hamburger buns)
21 seasoning salute and salt & pepper to taste
Directions
- Pour the barbecue sauce into a medium bowl. Crumble tempeh into the sauce, stir and let it marinate for about 10 minutes. Add diced garlic to mixture. (I usually do this first so it can marinate while I’m cutting up the bell peppers. I usually use Bullseye BBQ sauce because it doesn’t contain high-fructose corn syrup and use a dark, smoky sauce for a more well balance flavor. I also choose to use yellow instead of a green bell pepper for a sweeter flavor instead of bitter.)
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the red and yellow peppers. Cook, stirring frequently until tender. Stir in the tempeh and barbecue sauce and heat through. Season to your liking.
- Spoon tempeh mixture onto Kaiser rolls and serve.
